How did you start to play ice hockey?
First started after watching a few mates play back in high school. I originally started figure skating, how embarrassing.
Who are your Ice Hockey influences/role models and why?
Recently I have followed Jarome Iginla like a bad rash as he has a great mix of good hands and strong body influence. Some of the defensive work I have seen lately has been great to watch.
Do you have any techniques/skills that enable you to perform better on the ice?
As I am a short guy, a low centre of gravity is a good asset for ice hockey, I tend to throw my body around a little more than average, but as a defenseman this is a good thing.
What do you do besides Ice Hockey in your spare time?
Besides working and getting out on the boat whenever we have a bye or off season, hockey takes up most of my time. Off season has me at festivals and spending time at Rottnest Island with the family. Love jet skis and usually look forward to hanging out with the boys and seeing the girlfriend of course.
How did you hear about Perth Thunder and what made you want to play for them?
A few years back we started Perth Thunder as a West Australian state team development platform, so I’ve been involved from the start and have enjoyed creating and being involved with this great team.
Which AIHL team do you think has the most chance of winning the Goodall Cup in 2013 (besides Thunder)?
Well Melbourne Ice is always a power house, but to throw things around the table a bit, I see Newcastle doing some damage soon. Always find them scoring some great imports and they have a great structure.
Anything else you would like to share?
Good luck to the team this year and can’t wait to share some wins with the boys.
