I have been playing inline since I was eight years old. I started playing on ice about three years ago and it was a natural transition. Since then, I've worked hard to make sure I'm at my best for Perth Thunder.
Steve Yzerman is my idea of the perfect hockey role model. More recently I'd consider Steven Stamkos and Jamie Benn as solid influences to my game.
I'm learning to use my size to my advantage, and I've always taken pride in shooting.
I still play inline hockey and will represent Australia at the IIHF World Inline Hockey Champs later this year. Otherwise, I have three jobs and study full-time at university so it's not hard for me to keep busy away from the rink.
It was big news in the hockey community in WA for years. When the team was officially sanctioned by the AIHL, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
Melbourne Ice obviously have a good thing going, but a lot of people are also talking about the Sydney Ice Dogs this year.
I really hope I don't go through $2000 worth of sticks this year.
